There is a way of being in the world that does not fade with time: the one adopted by the person who keeps asking questions even when the answers already seem settled. That curiosity, closer to the childlike gesture of taking apart what works than to the certainty of the expert who takes it for granted, leads us to cross disciplines, inhabit different languages and distrust premature certainties. Education, then, is not the object of knowledge in itself, but the inevitable effect of a gaze that refuses to grow accustomed to seeing the world as it is given.
